Art Alive 2013!

Just about every year since 2002, Sharon, if not the whole team, has participated in Art Alive. In 2007 we were even commissioned to do the entire two level rotunda decor! This year, as a lead designer, she had the great fortune of reinterpreting the Dali of San Diego Museum of Art, Spectre (or Ghost) of the Evening. Here you’ll find some details and explanations as well as some interviews by local media.

First media appearance on Fox 5.

Next was UT TV.

And here is a very pregnant and very exhausted  Sharon (this ran at 6am after a week’s long media blitz) interviewed by Brad Perry of KUSI.

The overall piece and painting.

The air conditioning duct centerpiece holder used to reference the abrupt end of public works projects in Spain at the time of the painting’s creation.

The copper calla lilies representing industrial debris.

Rocks and ghosts represented by cleavland sage, skeleton leaves and air plants.

A variety of grains representing a barren landscape in Spain primarily used for cereal production.

One last overall.

Rustic Beach Glam

Recently we had the chance to produce floral decor for Jenny and Joe’s wedding at Pacifica Restaurant in Del Mar with the always lovely Suzanne of BB Weddings and Events. This was a fun design from Juliet garden rose to gravel bedded air plant terrariums. Such fun details at every corner, enjoy!

Let’s Take Flight!

Recently we had the unbelievable pleasure of producing florals for a big event for San Diego, Boeing hosting their annual awards event here at the San Diego Convention Center. Producing wedding caliber florals for a 1,000 person event was no easy feat but it was a great experience. Thank you so much to the amazing Boeing staff, Cathy and Tiffany at the convention center and the always amazing team OE!!

Overgrown Lounge

Recently we had the great honor of producing something really fun for Swoon 4 at the Historic US Grant Hotel. We teamed up with Design House of Moira for their amazing calligraphy in both ink and chalk as well as the sweet talents of Wicked Spoon for desserts served exclusively at our lounge. Check out these stunning images by our good friend and photographer extraordinaire, Tim Otto of Tim Otto Photography.
