Katie and Davin

Well, here we are again, another beautiful wedding styled by Luxe Special Events. This wedding had lots of contemporary and urban elements including chic lounge decor and backdrops, as well as the backdrop of Downtown San Diego and Petco Park, as seen from the venue, The Ultimate Skybox. Concept Event Design’s smile booth wall and furniture added the perfect chic greeting as the guest entered this fun club experience. Audra Rene did a number on Katie and her ladies. Sweet Cheeks knocked this simple and elegant cake out of the park. Overall, this was a super cool wedding we were stoked to produce for. Enjoy!

Call for Designers!

Well, it’s been an incredible season, and it’s far from over! We need to add a designer to our amazing team, is it you? If you have designing experience consistent with what you see here, please email us!

American Liver Foundation

Every year we’re met with a challenge, and his name is Chef Timothy Ralphs of Estancia Hotel and Spa in La Jolla. Chef is a big supporter of The American Liver Foundation and their annual gala. Chef puts out a good spread, and he expects us to do the same. Every year he challenges us to do come up with something unique and custom that will act as a conversation starter for all of the gala’s guests which help make it such a success. Here is this year’s table, a round table rendition of our Frank Gehry Metal Tabletop. It’s high recyclable and post consumer waste content went perfectly with Chef’s green menu. Here are some pics of our creation. Special thanks to Rock Paper Scissors for these super cool Lucite menus, Concepts Event Design for the awesome chargers and linens and to Kool.  Party Rentals for the magnificent acrylic chairs. Enjoy!

Swirling towers reveal flowers running through like water.

Craspedia offshoots add whimsy.

Neat touches are added to the votive candles.

Flowers drip down onto the table.

Incredible Lucite menus work the table’s modern and curvaceous look.

Effortless Elegance…

…well, I think Luxe Special Events put quite a bit of effort into this one but they made it look quite, simply… elegant! Jenny and her team at Luxe knocked this one out of the park for our bride Karen, from stunning napkin detail to beautiful table numbers, to fine linens and lounge furniture by Concepts Event Design. It all went great with the elegant garden feel of The Hilton Torrey Pines. We can’t see the real pics that have yet to come but here are some sneak peeks by us in the mean time.. enjoy!

Cascading phales and gardenias for our lovely bride.

A curly willow and hydrangea chuppah envelope them.

Rustic glam accents on the chairs.

Fun escort cards in wheat grass with satin root wraps and custom buttons.

Damask wrapped cymbidium orchids upon each table.

A portion of the twenty table layout.

Our new, striking black glass vases go well with the stylish whimsy of Concept’s linens and chargers.

A set of three.

A little shabby chic lounge.

Fun cake with phaleanopsis orchids and curly willow.

No detail was left untouched, down to the beautiful table numbers and the exquisite broaches on the chair sashes.

Subtly Stunning

We love this wedding! When Marisa came in, she clearly had a vision and all we had to do was play follow the leader. She chose to go with cafe ole dahlias galore, grape wood roots, super fun rentals and striking silver lanterns. The density of design placed upon these tables for a total of fifty two guests is quite striking, what’s not to love?? Special thanks to Emilie and Darlington House, Coast Catering, Concepts Event Design, Cake and Classic Party Rentals.

Dahlias, garden roses and succulents oh my!

A Swing’n Estate Wedding

OK, so maybe I’m a little bit biased because this is my big brother’s wedding but I think it was rather awesome. He chose to get married at a long time friend’s house, a beautiful estate in Beverly Hills. To fit all of their guests, my brother and his fiance had to cover the pool and get married upon it, placing the guest tables on what is normally the tennis court now carpeted of course. We were thrilled to work with Kenny and Steve of Classic Party Rentals and my brother and his team at Ultimate Lighting Solutions (did I mention has his own company doing event lighting at events like Giant, Electric Daisy Carnival and Sundance?). Also, very special thanks and appreciation to the one and only Kathryn Zaloga, my dear LA designer friend who came and helped us out that day.

Enjoy!

Well, when a coordinator gets married you know it’s going to be good. When a candy station master gets married you know it’s going to be sweet. And when the two unite, the result is ridiculously amazing!!

Kaitlyn and Nick Tie the Knot!

This wedding is particularly dear to our hearts. This is the wedding of Kaitlyn, one of our photo shoot darlings and a dear friend to OE and friends. So when Kaitlyn asked if we’d go to her home town of Huntington Beach, of course we said YES!

Kaitlyn chose purples and blues with touches of green, creating rich tones in rather unique design styles. Here are some pics to check out! Special thanks to Jen Likes for her fabulous wedding design and coordination and to Brightly Designed for their amazing paper magic, can’t wait to see the real pics by SheWanders!!

Sharon Celebrates 15 Years of Design!

The month of August always denotes a design anniversary for our fearless leader, Sharon, this time the number is 15! In 1996, Sharon began to design in a posh Beverly Hills Studio where she learned the tricks of the trade from the industry’s very best. The journey was a fun one that took her through California and Europe, eventually settling her in her beloved San Diego.

There was much to celebrate:

(That was a veggie burger even back then)

And though there were some struggles…

…she avoided getting eaten alive (We knew that one day this picture would be useful!!)

And, in the end…

Everything is just as it should be.

Beach Party Bingo!

Well, maybe not quite, but this wedding was a whole lot of fun with bright pops of color on Torrey Pines State Beach. We were thrilled to work with Luxe Special Events on this unique wedding, along with Concepts Event Design. Check out these unique touches that made Christel’s wedding truly hers!
